Interim Terms of Reference
Mission
To support all RN prescribers, by providing a national group to connect this workforce and promote the intent of the role.
Purpose
To establish a safe and supportive forum to optimise and promote efficient actualisation of Registered Nurse Prescribing, by linking Registered Nurse Prescribers (RNP’s) and critically analysing issues to develop strategic quality improvement plans.

Purpose
To establish a safe and supportive forum to optimise and promote efficient actualisation of Registered Nurse Prescribing, by linking Registered Nurse Prescribers (RNP’s) and critically analysing issues to develop strategic quality improvement plans.
Activities will include (but not be limited to)
- RNP’s from point of academic preparation (Prescribing Practicum level) to workplace; collaboration with Nursing Council/Academic providers/workplaces/nursing groups (e.g. representation on working groups) and members (for example position descriptions).
- connecting RNP’s in setting, region, and area of expertise/interest to establish participation and national representation.
- celebrating the value and contribution of the RNP scope as both a goal and destination for RN specialists
- Reflecting the contribution of RNP’s and communicating the perspectives/issues of the wider clinical team/nursing groups/patient outcomes to effect and inform quality improvement activities.
- Current Nursing Council of New Zealand Annual Practicing Certificate with authorisation for: RNP in Primary Health and Specialty teams/Community health
- Postgraduate RNs enrolled in a NCNZ approved postgraduate diploma academic prescribing pathway.
- Members will be guided by operating recommendations in accordance with NCNZ and professional organisations -Codes of Conduct and Social Media Guidelines, and individual contracts/workplace policies.
- The Executive Committee will reflect representation of the membership. Roles, meetings, quorum will be reviewed annually or as required (inauguration June 2022).
- Action minutes will be completed for all meetings to enhance transparency and communication.

- Terms of Reference will be reviewed annually or as required, by the Executive Committee.
